BUILDING BEYOND BLUE PRINTS

At MonsterKraft, we believe that exceptional spaces come to life when design and construction move in rhythm. With over 24 years of experience, we specialize in bespoke, design-build solutions — from handcrafted millwork and custom cabinetry to refined interiors and complex hillside developments.

Every project is a collaboration built on trust, creativity, and respect for craft. We approach our work like a great jazz ensemble — each professional bringing their own expertise, listening closely, adapting, and creating something extraordinary together. Because when the chemistry is right, the results speak for themselves.

When we approach a new project, we first consider how we can make the space feel genuinely lived in — personal, functional, and unforgettable.

At MonsterKraft, construction is our profession, but curiosity is our compass. After 24 years, we’ve learned that true quality isn’t about chasing perfection — it’s about creating harmony between vision, material, and skill.

Our team thrives on complexity, from architectural builds and detailed finishes to the subtle character of custom joinery. We see every project as a collaboration in problem-solving and design thinking — grounded, imaginative, and built to last.

Our Story

PROJECT FEATURE 1

Mid City Accessory Dwelling Unit

Part of a larger Craftsman renovation, this garage-to-ADU conversion in the Mid City area of Los Angeles was a collaborative effort with Pogany Studio focused on maximizing functionality within a historic footprint. The 100-year-old, 400 sq ft structure was transformed into a fully equipped living space featuring a complete kitchen, bathroom, and laundry — all within its original envelope.

We designed and built every interior detail, bringing our own character and craftsmanship into the kitchen and media wall. The space integrates a retractable projector screen concealed in the ceiling, a tall work desk, a shoe bench and landing nook, professional surround sound, and a high-end projector system — each element hidden when not in use, but ready for movie nights at a moment’s notice.

Custom kitchen cabinetry was tailored to use every inch efficiently, taking advantage of vaulted ceilings for additional storage. A narrow pull-out houses a ladder for easy upper-cabinet access, paired with open shelving on the opposing wall to maintain flow and visual balance. The result is a compact, highly functional living environment that feels open, intentional, and entirely its own.

PROJECT FEATURE 2

Echo Park Duplex Conversion

Perched in the hills of Echo Park, this home was once a well-known waypoint within the NELA artist community — a shared rental, a creative refuge, and a landing spot for countless roommates over the years. In 2017, the homeowner chose to retire the duplex identity and transform the property into a single-family residence where he and his partner could settle in and enjoy the year-round sunsets the site offers.

Pogany Studio led the reimagined floor plan, while we shaped the character and finish of the home. The project includes concrete-clad bathrooms, monolithic patio decks, and bespoke office and living room furniture. This project is a true example of how a set of drawings can evolve into a space with life, purpose, and personality. Further proof that our clients trust us not only to build, but to shape the life and ambiance of the homes they live in.

Project Feature 3

Culver City Reinvention

Reimagined by the team at Formation Association, this single-family home in Culver City was reinvented during the early months of the pandemic. What began as a design-forward remodel quickly evolved into a project defined not only by structural challenges, but by the realities of shifting logistics, unpredictable supply chains, and constantly changing schedules.

Through steady communication, careful triage, and close collaboration with the homeowner and the Formation team, we transformed an otherwise typical home into something truly unique. The finished residence features Japanese shou sugi ban siding, smooth concrete stucco, Ipe decking, and MonsterKraft custom-built cabinetry and detailing — each selected and crafted to bring warmth, texture, and presence to the space.

A true testament to resilience, this project reflects what’s possible when a team stays adaptable, aligned, and committed through some of the most challenging circumstances in recent memory.

About Us

MonsterKraft is a family-owned and operated design-build company rooted in the belief that great construction starts with great relationships. For us, the work is personal. The homes we build are important, but the friendships we form along the way matter even more. We take pride in creating environments where clients feel heard, supported, and taken care of — not just during the project, but long after it’s complete.

Our team is at the heart of everything we do. The carpenters, finishers, tradespeople, and specialists who bring these projects to life aren’t just subcontractors — they’re part of our extended family. We invest in their well-being, their safety, and their ability to earn a true Los Angeles living wage because our success is directly tied to theirs. When we say we’re proud of our work, what we really mean is that we’re proud of the people behind it.

A truly good project can only be conceived when everyone is aligned, supported, and treated with dignity. Its success isn’t measured by completion alone, but by the quality of the collaboration that brought it to life.

We carry that same respect into every partnership — with architects, designers, engineers, and homeowners. A good project doesn’t begin on site; it begins with communication, trust, and a willingness to work together with intention.

At the end of the day, we're building more than structures. We're building trust, community, and long-term relationships with the people who choose to work with us. Doing things the right way — with honesty, curiosity, craftsmanship, and care — is the foundation of MonsterKraft, and it’s the reason we love what we do.
